My First Ever Nude

Fancy seeing one of my nudes?

Yep, this is my first ever nude. I'm not much of a lipstick girl but I'm trying to get into wearing them, especially now in the colder months as a bit of protection on my lips from the harsh weather conditions. I wanted to wear a lipstick daily so I thought the best colour to wear would be a nude colour so it's not extremely obvious at work that I'm wearing something on my lips.

Now ages ago, whilst I was in Cardiff (it's that long ago that I can't actually remember when I was last in Cardiff) I popped into Boots and had a quick look at the clearance section which is probably my favourite part of Boots, oh and the perfume section. I spotted that this lipstick was on sale and when I took one look at the shade of it, I knew I had to get it. Oh and with it being less than £2, it would of been incredibly rude of me to leave it behind....

Please ignore my pale, thin and hairy arm

This is a swatch of the lipstick, I have edited the contrast and brightness on this photo but it doesn't look to different to the original photo I took. It's more of a coral-y nude look so for me personally it's not a 'my lips but better' kind of colour but I find it's still a discreet colour. I feel fine wearing it at work and I think if I had this back at school, I reckon I could of gotten away with it as long as I said it was part lip balm as well...

It's in the shade Nude Suede and it is from the Collection stand from Boots and I'll be honest, knowing that it was from Collection, I didn't really have high hopes for it has taken me by surprise. As it is from Collection, I knew that the original price wouldn't of been that expensive (I'm thinking less than a fiver) so I wasn't expecting to get much out of it. For starters, the colour is really nice and I like to think that it suits me, it's also pigmented as well and you can get away with just one coat but I always like to add two coats just in case. It's not drying on the lips and sometimes I like to add a lip balm before hand but I wouldn't say that it's necessary. The lasting time on this baby is fairly long, I reckon I can go about 5 hours without having to retouch and even if I do have to retouch, it's not that obvious that it's coming off. The only downside for me is that I can feel it on my lips but having said that, it's exactly why I'm starting to wear lipstick now. One of my worst habits, is constantly licking my lips throughout the day and I don't even know that I'm doing it half the time and it results in me having dry and flaky lips. Yuck. But luckily whilst wearing this lipstick, it is preventing me from pursuing my habit of a life time.

So overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. I have been wearing it daily as it is quite subtle and considering it cost me around £2, I can't say I'm disappointed with it!
