Beauty Trends That I Will Not Follow

There are some beauty trends out there that I refuse to follow

I saw similar blog post over on A Girl Obsessed and thought it was a really interesting and I thought I would give it a go and let you all know about some of the beauty trends that I'm not 100% a fan off. Of course, I'm not bashing anyone who follows these beauty trends, I just find that there are some things out there aren't for me.

Harsh contouring
I'll be honest and say that I don't really know how to contour properly but I don't really get why you'd want to temporary change the structure of your entire face? If I feel like wearing bronzer then I'll just apply the smallest amount to my cheekbone and then up towards my forehead as well but it's mainly to apply a bit of colour to my face once I've covered it all in foundation.

Bold eyebrows
I feel like I can't comment on my eyebrows because mine are terrible but I don't really get the obsession with trying to make them look 'on fleek'. For me personally, I put all this down to laziness because I can't really be bothered to try and sort them out. My eyebrows are on the thick side so all I do if I'm wearing makeup is fill them in but even then I use an eye shadow because I have no idea what I'm doing.

Blue/green mascara
I really don't get this. Like, I seriously don't get it at all.

Doing your eye makeup first
This isn't even a trend but I feel like I have to get it off my chest. My eyes are pretty much the last things I do when it comes to makeup so when I see people who start off with their eye makeup really baffles me. Is it not really hard to apply foundation all over your face after you've done your eye makeup?

Having your hair down when you apply makeup
Again, this isn't a trend and it's just a personal preference but when I watch people on You Tube who apply their makeup with the hair down really bugs me. Whenever I apply makeup or take it off, I have to have my hair tied back otherwise it just get's in the way all the time.

Different coloured lip liners
I won't name any names on here but I keep seeing people with nude lips and then they have a darker nude coloured lip liner around the lips and I just think it looks really bizarre and it just screams 90's at me as well. Why can't you just match the lipstick to the lip liner and have it look more natural?

Sheer clothes
You might remember that a few weeks ago, Topshop recently started selling see through jeans - you know the ones that I'm on about and I just thought it was the strangest thing to have ever been designed. One of my pet peeves when it comes to clothes is sheer clothing. It really bugs me. I sort of get a sheer top so you can wear a super cute bra underneath but when it comes to trousers/dresses/skirts that are so sheer that you can see your underwear through really gets to me. What is the point?

Denim jackets/skirts

Whenever it was non school uniform day at my primary school, I would always wear a denim jacket WITH a denim skirt and just the thought of it makes me shiver. In my opinion jeans should be the only item of clothing made from denim. Whenever I think about the times were I did the awful combination, I always think about how unconformable it made me feel. I think the last time I wore a denim jacket/skirt was probably 2004 and that's not even an exaggeration.
