An Old Foundation That I've Recently Purchased

Thursday, 11 May 2017

Looking for a new foundation to buy isn't really an enjoyable experience for me anymore. I use to love going out to Boots to find a new foundation for me to buy and try but I always get disappointed with the product that I've bought. Foundations always seem to be too dark for my skin even when it's the palest shade they have, or it has a yellow undertone to it which doesn't match my skin tone. I have a pink undertone and still really haven't found a foundation that will match my skin tone.

Now, years ago when I was back at college, I think I was around 17/18 I did make a foundation purchase and like always, I never do a proper test, I just apply it to the back of my hand to see if it's a good fit. I purchased the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in light porcelain and I'm pretty sure that to this day, it's the only foundation that matches my skin tone.

When I did go out to buy a new foundation in the back of my head, I always told myself I should go back to the Rimmel foundation as it's the only foundation that I've tried that has a good match but I ignored myself and would search high and low for a new foundation only to be disappointed again and again.

Somewhere on my blog (unless I've deleted it) I have done a review on this but seeing as I did do it a long time ago, it's probably awful and rubbish. So I thought that I would a quick recap on why I'm glad that I've rekindled my love for this old foundation.

  • It matches my skin colour - Hoorah!
  • Has a pink undertone so it actually looks decent on my skin
  • It's pretty affordable but I'm pretty sure you can buy it at places like Savers and get it at a better price than what you would in Boots
  • It gives a light to medium coverage which I'm actually okay with
  • You can pretty much find it anywhere that sells makeup in the U.K, it's not one of those gold dust products that you have to purchase online
  • Doesn't break my skin out

    1. I think out of all the foundations I've bought over the years, this is the one that best matches my skin! The only issue I have with this foundation is that it's a bit on the liquid - y side! x
