A Few Reasons Why You Should Start To Run

Q: What does Forest Gump use as his password for his laptop?

A: 1Forest1

February was the month were I finally said to myself "you really need to get out and do some exercise" and that's exactly what I started to do. It was a lot easier than what I thought it was going to be and plus, I bought a running buddy with me so it was a lot of fun!

After doing my second run I thought I would Google some of the benefits running has and I thought I would share with you some of the ones that I thought were pretty interesting and not to mention, quite motivating.

1/You can do it anywhere
Literally anywhere you want, you can do it round your area, on a beach, in a big park, you name it and you can probably do it there.

I wanted to start going to the gym but the only thing that would interest me was the treadmill. It suddenly came to me a few moments later when I realised that I might as well just start to run as it's 100 times cheaper. Well, it' cheaper because it's free to do so.

3/Easy to do
When it comes to running it's pretty much mind over matter. It's also the thought of running that's a lot harder than running. Once you get out there and put one foot in front of the other it becomes a lot easy to do and at some points I find it quite addicting.

4/Runners supposedly live longer
I am by no means classed as a runner but this fact made me want to run every single day. Researchers suggest that runners do tend to live longer than those that don't run and plus, they tend to get fewer disabilities when they're older.

5/Boosts the memory
I have an appalling short term memory which made it awful at school when teachers would ask questions and I would have no idea what they just said. According to some more researchers, running keeps the mind sharp. Whether that includes short term memory I'm not so sure but it's always a good idea keep your mind sharp regardless of what state it's in!

6/Natural glow
Working up a sweat gives you a natural glow. Apparenrtly running (or any other kind of excercise) gets rid of the gross stuff that clogs pores. Whenever I go for a run I always like to run makeup free as I feel it will benefit my skin more if it's all clean. But if you're the type of person to go to the gym with a full face of makeup then go for it! Just remember to get rid of all your makeup after though!

7/Improves self esteem
It's always good to have a good self esteem. I believe that when you feel good about yourself you will have a completely different outlook on life.

8/Keeps blood pressure down
Which is probably why it's best to start your workout/exercise routine now rather than later!

9/Kill two birds with one stone
Why don't you bring your furry friend a long with you?

10/Better sleep
This is probably the main reason why I wanted to start running. I always find that my sleeping pattern is a bit off so I'm tired throughout the day but then as soon as my head hits that pillow I'm wide awake. I only run once a week mainly because of the weather so I can't really comment on if it has made my sleep better but during the warmer weeks I will be deffo doing a lot more running so fingers crossed it benefits my sleeping pattern!

11/You feel better
Apparently running releases mood boosting endorphin's to tackle mood swings and helps the aches and pains you get when that time of the month comes around. Whilst I don't feel like I want to run when it is finally that time of the  month, in the warmer months I'll probably give it a go, but for now, I'll just stick to the paracetamol for when it is that time of the month.
