Haul | The Body Shop & Boots!

Saturday, 10 August 2013

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've blogged but today I thought I would do something different and do a haul. I went to Boots and The Body Shop last week and bought a few stuff so I thought I would show you all what I got and write a little review for everything that I had got.

I had been dying to get some BB cream for the summer as I don't really want to wear heavy foundation while it's hot as it tends to make my make up run and look very oily so throughout the day I end up looking a complete mess. I decided to get Maybelline New Dream Pure BB cream for oily skin as it contains 2% salicylic acid, plus it also contains SPF 15 which is an added bonus. The BB cream is an eight in one BB cream:
  • Conceal imperfections
  • Helps to protect against the appearance of blemishes
  • It is oil free and non greasy
  • Minimizes the appearance of pores
  • Clarifies the skin's looks
  • Conceals redness
  • Hydrates and smoothes the skin
  • Complements skin tone
I got three of them because there was a 3 for 2 sale on at Boots so I thought it was a good opportunity to buy them, I think they were about £6.99 but I'm not too sure.

Overall I am very impressed with this BB cream, the best part about it is the fact that it doesn't make my skin look oily throughout the day plus it really does minimize the appearance of my pores, they are hardly noticeable. I will probably be purchasing more of this BB cream.
The Body Shop

The Seaweed clarifying toner: this is probably one of the best things I have ever used. The toner is meant for combination/oily skin and helps to remove impurities and refines pores. I've been using this toner day and night for the past week and more pores look a lot smaller, I am in love with this product. The smell is pleasant and feels lovely when I apply it to my face. I am very impressed with this toner and will continue to buy more in the future.
The Seaweed Pore - Cleansing Facial Exfoliator: this too is for combination/oily skin and like the toner, I am in love with it. It says that it is an oil balancing polish to deep cleanse pores and reveal smooth skin. I have to say after using these two products my face does look a lot less oilier and my pores look so small they are barely noticeable now. I recommend using this maybe once or twice a week because it does sorta feel like rubbing smashed glass onto your face and I could imagine rubbing this onto your face day and night harshly could damage your skin a little bit, but I am still very impressed with this. If you do you have oily skin like mine then I really do recommend these as my skin looks a lot better after using both these products.

Vitamin E Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes- I hate them. I hate them, I hate them, I hate them. I bought these as a replacement for my other face wipes that I got from The Body Shop because I hated them as well. I originally had the tea tree oil face wipes and I hated them because they burnt my face. I actually looked like I had sat in the sun for about 3 hours with no sun cream on my face. Having a red face wasn't the worst part, it really hurt the skin on my face as well, my face felt so hot and the skin felt really tight as well. I just thought my face had an allergic reaction to the tea tree oil face wipes, so I bought these ones as they had Vitamin E in them which is supposed to be good for the skin but these also burnt my face. I'm pretty sure it's the actual wipe that I am allergic to rather than the ingredients used in it. I probably won't be buying any more face wipes from The Body Shop because paying £6 for something to burn your face is a lot of money - especially when you can sit in the garden and burn your face for free.

I also ended up getting this as I renewed my Body Shop card so they were giving away these for free to anyone that bought/renewed their card. If you do shop a lot at The Body Shop then I do highly recommend the card, it only costs a fiver which isn't a lot considering you get a free five pound gift for your birthday, 10% of everything you buy and when you spend over a tenner you get a little stamp and I think when you reach your fifth stamp you get a free five pound gift and when you reach the eighth stamp you receive a ten pound gift (you can pick something out from the shop).  I can't really say much about the Absinthe Purifying Hand Wash as it is just a hand was but it does smell lovely and the smell lasts a while too but I probably wouldn't go out of my to buy this hand wash.

I hope you all enjoyed my little haul!
